  • I am researching on politics and security in Afghanistan. My research titles include the National Unity Government, reconciliation between Taliban and the Afghan Government, "Khorasan Province of Islamic State", infiltration of foreign militants to Afghanistan, regional security, and bilateral relations between Afghanistan and other countries, such as the U.S. Pakistan, India, China, Russia, and Iran. In addition to analysis on the security situation in Afghanistan, I examine its impact on neighboring countries and peace and security in the international community.
Besides, I am doing research on reconciliation and mediation in violent conflicts. In particular, I am interested in how the level of momentum can be measured for the third party intervention, and what conditions are for a successful reconciliation.

  • My classes include "Introduction to NGO", "NGO Internship", and "Convivial Global Society". To understand development and civil society, it is necessary to have practical experience in addition to understanding in theories. Therefore, I try to combine practice with theories in my classes. Also, my classes are participatory to improve students' skills in communication.

Future Research Plans, Research Prospects, and Joint Research Potential 【 display / non-display

  • I will continue researching on politics and security in Afghanistan to contribute to better understanding in the region and to find out ways to bring peace and stability in war-torn societies. I am planning to expand my research themes to wider areas, such as Iran's intention to develop Chabahar port and expansion of Islamic extremism to Central Asian countries. Furtherthermore, I will try to suggest practical approaches in the area of the Security Sector Reform (SSR) based on my experience in Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) and Afghanistan Peace and Reintegration Program (APRP).
